Spiritualism’s Message

Spiritualism’s message to the world.   Spiritualism has a definite message to give to the world we as spiritualist have no creed.  We have a declaration of principles which sets forth the truths that we accept.
Philosophy Spiritualism – The Seven Principles
Spiritualism does not dictate what to believe or how to interpret religious philosophy, there are no books or preachers whose word must be obeyed. The philosophy of SNU Spiritualism is founded upon Seven fundamental Principles and Spiritualists can interpret them as they think best.

1. The Fatherhood of God

By the study of Nature, by personal experience and from the wisdom given to us from those in the spirit-world we recognise that there is a creative force in the universe. This force created the whole universe and life itself in its many forms. This ‘Creative Force’ manifests in all things and as we are part of the Life created by God, we acknowledge God as our Father.

2. The Brotherhood of Man

We are all part of the universal creative force, one large human family in God. Spiritualists try to understand the needs of others and aim to help all people materially, emotionally, and spiritually.

3. Communion of Spirits and the Ministry of Angels

Spiritualism aims to prove that there is life after death and encourages the development of mediums who are able to communicate with the many loved relatives and friends in the spirit world. There are people in the spirit world who are dedicated to the welfare and service of mankind, some bring inspiration and guidance whilst others help with healing.

4. Continuous Existence of the Human Soul

Spirit is part of the ‘Creative Force’ and indestructible. After death the spirit continues in a different dimension, that we call the ‘spirit world’. In the spirit world we have a spirit body which, until we progress far enough, is a replica of our earthly body. We have the same personality and characteristics and we change and grow, as we would on earth, by experience and as result of our own efforts.

5. Personal Responsibility

Responsibility for wrongful thoughts and actions, in every aspect of life, lies with the individual. No other person or influence can put right our wrong doings. No one can interfere with our spiritual development unless we allow this.

6. Compensation and Retribution hereafter for all Good and Evil Deeds done on Earth

Spiritualists believe that this sixth Principle is a natural law and has been expressed by others as, ‘as you sow, so shall you reap’. If someone is cruel and vindictive towards others then in some way retribution will follow, if someone gives love and kindness then compensation follows. This law operates now, on earth as well as in the spirit world.

7. Eternal Progress open to every Human Soul

All who want to walk the path that leads to perfection are able to progress in mental and spiritual understanding. By doing our best in earth life and by following our inward intuitions we shall find progress comes on earth and in spirit.

The concepts and original wording for the Principles came through the mediumship of Emma Hardinge Britten who was a Spiritualist medium and great speaker on Spiritualism’s philosopy.

Spiritualist not only say that they believe that there is an intelligence which is greater then the human mind can conceive, but they go further and say that they know that there is an infinite force working in this vast universe, of which we are all a part of.

To many people the word spiritualism brings thoughts of fortune-telling. They think of a medium as a person located in some unpretentious place, engaged in Crystal gazing or carding reading.  This is not spiritualism. Palmistry, astrology, and neurology are not spiritualism; They are distinct sciences apart from ours. These things have attached themselves to spiritualism.

As a religious movement, or minister stand in the same position as those of any other denomination. We are according to the same privileges. Our marriage ceremonies are legal. Or standing is just as high as that of any other denomination in the land.

Spiritualism is a religion of happiness. We believe in so living that we can manifest happiness. We attract to ourselves just what is within us. We make our happiness or unhappiness here and now.

Heaven is not gained by a single bound. Life is the ladder by which we climb, and experiences are the rungs upon which we ascend. There is no death; life is everywhere. Death, so called, is a manifestation of life. Man is not a sinful creature; he does not need vicarious atonement. All he needs is to unfold himself, to learn how to use the faculties God has given him. When we have finished our experience here, This physical body cast aside, and we are released become a spiritual being in the unseen world.

When you understand life, death becomes the sweetest boon that God has given us. Just a wave of the hand, a sigh, a little silence, and we find ourselves in a new life. Let us realize that we were living now in God’s ever present eternity. Death is just one of the manifestations of God, as is birth. One is as natural as the other and as necessary in our growth and we are all making our own way towards perfection according to the light we have.

We sit in circles with love in our hearts. To commune with those who have passed beyond. True spiritualist do not go into the circle asking for the little things in life; they enter them with the hope and prayer that a message may come across from the loved ones on the other side of life, telling that they live and move and have their being.

The Religion, Philosophy and Science of Spiritualism

SNU Spiritualism

Spiritualism is a religion that gives an understanding of God and encourages us to act with a high sense of duty towards others. Spiritualism stimulates spiritual growth and prepares us for eternal existence in the spirit-world.

Spiritualism is a science because it is based upon proven facts that can be demonstrated and scientifically classified. Spiritualism is the science of life as it encourages the search for truth in every department of existence, in nature and in human psychology.

Spiritualism is a philosophy that attempts to understand people, their physical, intellectual, moral, and spiritual being. As Spirit is the moving force of the Universe, so Spiritualist philosophy embraces the whole realm of nature.

Could You Be a Medium?

Could You Be a Medium?

Have you ever wondered what a medium is and how they connect with spirit? Having this ability is a gift and can be learned and perfected over time.

Mediumship is a form of communication between physical human beings and discarnate spirits.  It is a way of relaying information between two levels of reality that requires cooperation on both sides.  Mediums because of their special attunement to the vibrations of the spirit world become the instruments through which the spirit people touch our world. Mediumship erects a bridge between the physical and the non-physical.

A medium is able to give the direct evidence that proves he or she is truly connecting with, and communicating with, people from the spirit world. The medium has the ability to paint that person back to life.

A medium will continue to gather clues and direct evidence, he or she will give direct names, places, events, illnesses, or maybe even an obscure song that had sentimental value. They may also provide details about a pet or an animal that played a role in the individual’s life. For someone, this information further validates the accuracy and true connection to the spirit world.

An evidential mediumship reading usually begins with messages that give you evidence that your loved one in spirit is truly communicating with the medium.

The purpose of evidential mediumship is to help overcome any skepticism about spirit communication. Evidential messages are the messages that people often describe as, “The medium knew things about her that he could never have known unless he was in direct contact with her.”

Have you ever felt a connection with spirit? Would you like to hone those premonitions and make a solid connection? This is something that is not gong to happen over night. I can give you the tools to become a medium but you will have to do the hard work. Join me May 20 through 22 for a class on become a medium.
